Victor will show photos of the problem areas along the two streets and talk about the many opportunities there are for the immediate, short, and long term.

In the immediate time frame big improvements in pedestrian and bicycle safety can be easily obtained (as shown in the photos above) by simply cleaning off existing pavement of dirt, plants, and overhanging vines which could widen the paved area along Hamilton from 6" to 2' outside of the white lines. We hope to do planning for such a street cleaning event for Hamilton at the meeting.

Patty Lee, Chair of the Taylor's Ferry Road Vision Plan, will talk about their experience in developing that plan. The Taylor's Ferry Road Vision Plan is a great model/template for what needs to be created for the Hamilton & Shattuck Streets see the BNA Pedestrian Improvements for Hamilton & Shattuck page for more about that. Such a plan would describe what the neighborhood/City could do in the near/lowcost and long/heigher cost time frames. If you are interested in helping develop such a plan please come to the meeting and or contact Bev Vogt.
