Meeting Minutes for the Arnold Creek Neighborhood Association
December 8, 2009 - 7:00 pm
Antioch Christian Fellowship - 10558 SW 35th (lower level)
           
Present: Nancy Hand (Chairperson and Public Safety), Sharon Keast (Secretary), Michael Dexter (Transportation), Laurie Washburn (NET), Claude Washburn (Parks) and Ron “Mac” McDowell (Land Use)
 
Motions
-       SK motioned to approve minutes of last meeting, November 10, 2009.  It was approved.
-       SK motioned Ron McDowell be Arnold Creek Neighborhood Association’s Land Use Representative.  It was approved.
 
Neighborhood Liaison Officer (NH) Officer Caspar sent reminder to keep cars “showroom clean” and garages closed.  There was a car prowl and a car theft reported in the neighborhood.  CW reported vandalism near SW Orchard Hill Road.
 
Tryon Life Community Farm (MD) The Farm is holding a Holiday Open House, December 13th 2-5pm.
 
NET (LW) NET exercise in triage was held at Spring Hill Park.  Ropes class is ongoing.
 
Parks (CW) Monthly meting was canceled.
 
Public Safety (NH) Monthly meeting was canceled.  Commander Reese was transferred.   New commander, Dave Famous will be attending next Public Safety Committee meeting.
 
Transportation (MD) Portland Plan meetings are ongoing.  NH attended Transportation Committee meeting.  County referral number for warming centers is 211. 
 
Land Use (RM)
-       RM will be ACNA’s Land Use Representative (see motion) and will attend Portland Plan meetings.  Transportation and Land Use Committees will be meeting jointly December 15th.
-       RM is pursuing establishment of a Sustainability Committee within SWNI.
-       RM will be Project Manager for expanding use of existing solar panels at Wilson HS starting in January.  The Solar 4R Schools program, administered by Bonneville Environmental Foundation is for science education, not robust practical use.
-       Bob Lawrence, Station Advisory Committee (SAC) representative is resigning.  There will be a Fire Station 18 design meeting December 10th.
-       Last day to appeal the Lewis & Clark decision is December 17th.  The traffic study requested by ACNA was helpful.
-       RM will review permit requested for an addition to a single family home on SW Oak Creek Dr. in Trillium Woods subdivision.
