NET Rodeo

Jun 17 2006 - 8:00am
Jun 17 2006 - 5:00pm

NET refresher and advanced training in a regional setting. NET’s & CERT’s from: Beaverton, Clackamas County, Clark County, Gresham, Hillsboro, Lake Oswego, Portland, and Vancouver participating. We need 43 people to participate in the exercise, with an additional 3 people that have their HAM license, and 5 more people to play “victims.”

There will be a total of 11 drills and exercises:

  • Fire Extinguisher relay
  • Cribbing/Extrication
  • Patient Transport and Secondary Assessment
  • Search Maze
  • Simple Triage and Rapid Treatment
  • Splinting/Bandaging
  • K-9 Search and Rescue
  • Knot-Tying
  • Rescue Rope Throw
  • Sandbagging
  • Universal Precautions on Blood Borne Pathogens

The way this works is that everyone who shows up is assembled into different teams so that you get to meet and work with people from the different CERT programs. The teams will rotate through the presentations, drills and exercises. Lunch will be provided. All drills will be conducted in a spirit of friendly competition among the rodeo teams. Team prizes will be awarded and each member will receive a T-shirt.

Numbers are limited, so it’s first come first serve. If you don’t get in, don’t fret. There will be another Rodeo in late September at our training facility.

Must be NET Certified (unless playing “victim”)
