Please join with the Bridlemile Creek Stewards and other volunteers to help maintain this stream restoration project by planting new native plants, removing blackberry, clemantis, ivy and other invasive plant resprouts, see how this successful restoration project is progressing. Tools and refreshments will be provided. Dress for the weather. Note that this event qualifies students for Community Service hours.

Please join with the Friends of the Open Space Park, the Bridlemile Creek Stewards, and the Bridlemile Neighborhood Association on Saturday May 5th for the 2nd Annual Friends of the Open Space Park No Ivy Day Event.
We'll be removing ivy, blackberries, and other invasive plants and giving a guided tour of the park. Tools and refreshments will be provided, but if you have them please bring your favorite gardening gloves.

Victor will show photos of the problem areas along the two streets and talk about the many opportunities there are for the immediate, short, and long term.
In the immediate time frame big improvements in pedestrian and bicycle safety can be easily obtained (as shown in the photos above) by simply cleaning off existing pavement of dirt, plants, and overhanging vines which could widen the paved area along Hamilton from 6" to 2' outside of the white lines. We hope to do planning for such a street cleaning event for Hamilton at the meeting.
