VOLUNTEER EDUCATORS NEEDED!:Do you like working outdoors with kids?  Are you passionate about teaching sustainability, gardening, natural building, restoration and/or the arts?  Volunteering with Tryon Life Community Farm's Hands-On Sustainability Youth Education Program could be your next exciting adventure!  Our Hands-on Sustainability Program engages youth ages preschool - college in an interactive farm tour and hands-on activities and lessons on specific sustainability and ecology themes.  There are opportunities for volunteers to develop ongoing relationships with groups that visit regularly.  Tryon Life Community Farm is a non-profit sustainability education and demonstration center on 7 acres in SW Portland on the edge of Tryon Creek State Park.  More info at www.tryonfarm.org.

We will meet a day earlier than our usual meeting date. City Commissioner Sam Adams will attend the June meeting, which we are holding a day early to accommodate his schedule. We plan to discuss funding for sidewalks and other transportation improvements, such as the HALO Local Improvement District concept to improve collector streets, and other funding sources such as the Regional Transportation Plan. Please attend and share your concerns and suggestions with Commissioner Adams, who is the commissioner in charge of both PDOT and BES.
