Southwest Neighborhoods is partnering with Portland Community Media and the Office of Neighborhood Involvement to offer a multi-media workshop, Framing the Message, starting September 27th. In this six-session workshop, participants will explore concepts of editing video while developing a basic understanding of Apple's Final Cut Pro editing software.
Participants will learn to conceptualize the framing of ideas, how to stay organized as an editor, and develop a strategy for media management (both long term and short term). Each participant will create a short promo for his or her organization or for Portland community Media.
Workshop participants will work on individual MacBook Pro laptops, while the trainer guides participants. Each session allows time for both technical instruction and project creation. The reduced workshop fee covers all six sessions. there is no additional rental or lab fee for use of equipment during the workshop.
