Multnomah Land Use Projects

4144 SW Canby St

After a period of no news, the developers held a Zoom project update for neighbors on Tuesday, May 17. Here are some highlights:

The project details are largely unchanged since the last update, since the city permits are for a specific design.

Speed bumps on Canby from 35th to 41st are outlined but not being built until neighbors can OK them and other preliminary approval steps are taken. The project is still covering their cost, however.

7301 SW 26th Ave

Renaissance Homes is putting two homes there. A protest by neighbors did not change plans to remove “Mother Tree” and others on the lot.

Current status:
Old house is removed, septic tank decertified.
Several trees, including the “Mother Tree,” have been removed. Four other large trees remain on the lot.
All the trees on neighboring lots to the north and west of the development are not part of the project and remain in place.
Land being prepared for houses.
